Zion Chapel Cemetery is located in a forest clearing in southeastern Clarke County, Mississippi, 500 meters east of the Mississippi-Alabama state boundary on County Road 630. From Highway 145 in downtown Quitman, head east on State Highway 18 (Eucutta Street) for 1.2 miles. Turn right (south) on State Highway 511. Travel 18½ miles on 511 which will transition to County Road 511. Turn right (west) on County Road 630 and travel .4 mile. Zion Chapel is located on the right (north) of 630. The plot configuration of Zion Chapel cemetery is not in the traditional east-west or north-south layout. The plots appear to be organized in sections within the forest clearing. The cemetery is commercially active and burials continue to be made there. The photo at right was taken within the cemetery looking North.Cemetery coordinates are: 31° 55' 46"N, 088° 28' 31"W.

I have shown dates in the DDMMMYYYY format for easier reading. The (double marker) note means two separate headstones with surname between resting on a double base. The (double base) means two separate headstones (with full names) resting on a double base. Row numbers were determined as best I could using the cemetery layout and may not necessarily agree with any other compilation (if any) or official cemetery or church records. I was able to visit Zion Chapel when I came home to Mississippi in December 2006 and photo the plots. In my haste, I neglected to see that my lens was smudged. I plan to re-shoot the photos of Zion Chapel Cemetery as soon as time permits.
