Bethel Cemetery is located in forest clearing, south of the town of Quitman, in central Clarke County, Mississippi. From downtown Quitman head south on Highway 45 4½ miles to the Community of Desoto. Turn left (east) on Clarke County Road 690 for 2.3 miles. Turn left (north) on Clarke County Road 690 (Bethel Methodist Church is on your right). Travel north on Clarke County Road 691 for 400 yards, passing the Brown Chapel Church on your right. Turn right (northeast) on Clarke County Road for 80 yards. The cemetery entrance is to the left. The cemetery is commercially active and burials continue to be made there. The photo at right was taken within the cemetery looking south. Cemetery coordinates are: 31°58’28”N, 088°40’48”W.

The (double marker) note means two separate headstones with surname
between resting on a double base. The

determined as best I could using the cemetery layout and may not necessarily
